Something fun for Halloween!
Here’s a tryptic gathered from day four of the swarm phenomena surrounding the second season of the Netflix series Stranger Things.
On the left is all 1080p resolution distribution for four days, in the middle is all resolution encoded with the newest encoding algorithm (HEVC/H.265) aka x265, and on the right is the 720p distribution map.
As expected, high-resolution flow is dominated by 720p resolutions. The interesting part is the use of high-efficiency software in Brazil’s Sao Paulo and India’s Bangalore.
